Job Description:
MAIN FUNCTIONS -
Under the supervision of the General Manager, the estimator of public works in civil and urban engineering will carry out in part or all of the following functions:
Prepare an evaluation of the materials, labour and equipment costs necessary to successfully complete a construction project
Prepare budgetary, preliminary and detailed estimations of civil engineering works
Set up and maintain the systems and procedures of estimates, controls and reporting
Prepare and maintain a directory of the suppliers, contractors and sub-contractors
Communicate with the engineers, architects, owners, contractors and sub-contractors; prepare studies of economic feasibility on the changes and adjustments in the evaluation of costs
Requirements: Bachelor of Engineering - Civil or Diploma of Collegial Studies in civil engineering
Knowledge in estimation software, such as ProjEst
Good computer knowledge (Windows environment, Microsoft Office)
Have a minimum of 10 years experience in estimation of public works in urban engineering
